Bumba — Designed at Iceland Academy of the Arts — 2019
Overview
As part of a course focused on design for social causes at the Icelandic Academy of the Arts, we created a campaign celebrating the belly — a body part still often viewed with shame or discomfort. We aimed to challenge negative perceptions and promote body positivity through bold, honest visuals.
We invited volunteers for a studio photo shoot and later worked with their images to create a series of risograph-printed posters, which we displayed across Reykjavík. We also received additional submissions from participants who wanted to be part of the project. The full collection of images and stories was compiled into a book, which was donated to the Academy's library as a lasting record of the campaign.
Designed with Ragnheiður Stefánsdóttir, Sigríður Hafdís Hannesdóttir, and Sóley Ylja Bartsch.
